Was it love or lust?

When we express our love for someone of the opposite gender how can we be sure it is pure and not lust? This was another uncertainty which I used to have. What about you? How for example did you recognise the purity of your feelings? I would be grateful if you could share your thoughts or opinions and experiences.

i guess you dont just see it...rather feel it..you could feel if it is love or lust..there is just a difference in it,the way that person is to you, the way that person acts around you..there is just a big difference..

What you said is true for most of us. We react or act according to what we feel. We have different interpretations and as a result some of us have heated arguments between each other. I understand what you mean because I myself find it difficult to define what love really is.
Thank you for your response.

I guess it was when I just wanted to see him everyday irregardless of what we did. We could have hung out, watched a movie played in an amusement park or something, I didn't care as long as we were together.
Also, when we talk, whether on the phone or in person, it feels just right. That's when I knew it was love.

Even though lust is usually seen as physical attraction of another person, there is more to it. For example we can lust for something which the other person has. A kinder word would be crave or desire. Anyway, this is only my opinion.
Thank you for your response.
