Visa to more expenses all the best

Thankfully I have learned to be far more disciplined when it comes to using my Visa card. It can be so tempting to just go out there and max it out on everything our hearts desire but in the longer term it can really cause issues. It can be of great benefit if you are able to be discplined enough to use it in place of cash yet pay what's owing in FULL prior to the interest kicking in; but in reality it never seems to work out this way. I hope that you and your wife can find a happy medium ronaldinu and get the debt cleared sooner rather than later.

Ah, one of the biggest arguments amongst couples is spending. We got into serious trouble with credit cards and had to declare bankruptcy. That was many years ago but now we do not own any credit cards. I only use debit/credit cards. If we do not have the money for it, we make do or find a way to save for it. That is all there is.

When you know that you cannot fall back on it, you find another way.

I would stop the accounts or put the cards in a locked safe and they can only be used if both agree and it can be paid off or in an emergency.

The only other way is to get an American Express. You cannot carry over the balance as it is a charge card. Whatever your balance is, you must pay it off when the bill arrives.

Yes I agree with you and it does cause a lot of rows in a family because of it, I blame the banks for that, they should not let people takes these things out in the first place withou sorting people's income.

This sounds like the problem my parents generally have. They have quite a few bank credit cards and spend money from them when they are low on cash and thus they pay the sum of money and interest back to the banks. I have only 1 visa card that i share with my girlfriend, and that is a saving account card, no credit about it, and i am in generally a well tempered buyer and i will only spend money occasionally and not always as these money are for our summer vacations together.

being on a low income not very often but I find that I need to use mine as well..it is something I don't like doing but sometimes til I get paid which is every two weeks I may use it once...littleowl p.s. though fortunatley there is no-one to argue with about it.

It's sad you had a fight with your wife about the horrible Visa. So many people in Australia are in trouble with credit cards - even very young people who owe lots of money in mobile phone bills. It would be nice to be able to cut them in half and chuck them out - except they are handy in emergencies. I hope you get things sorted with your wife quickly.

Yea its easy to get in to debt with credit cards believe me I know from experience the first time I ever got a credit card the company was late sending me my billing statements, and they took the extra money I had left on my card becuse I had made sure I didnt go over my spending limit but the company took the remainder of the money I had left on the credit card, and when I called to inquire about it, they had some lame excuse as to why they did that, it seems to me that the credit card company's want you to go in to debt, and I dont trust them, thats why now I only use cash to shop or a prepaid debit card.

Thankfully my fiance and I do not have this problem and we have never fought about money. However I have seen what couples have done because they don't have money or just to get back at someone. For instance we have a friend who's girlfriend or as we call it his ball and chain will go out and spend beyond their means and he is left paying the balance. And then when it gets paid it gets racked up again. Another couple friend that we have he literaly cut all the credit cards up infront of his wife which then turned physical after that. I say if you don't have the money to buy something don't buy it. And if you can't afford to pay your credit card bill in the next few months don't use it as well. Simple as that.

Yes, i also hate VISA. Keeping a Visa buy something will make me reasonless. Now i owed bank much money and can not return the bank with my income. What can i do now?
