You can add stuff that are not from amazon. I've added stuff from Borders and Bed Bath and Beyond! You just have to type in the price though but it's still way cool!

I haven't been to many other wishlists. I'm not one to make one all the time but since people are pestering me about it, so I go to the more trusted site. It's just that before on Amazon, I don't think you can include anything that isn't sold there but now they allow you to use other sites as well.

Should they be called bridal registries or wedding registries? I haven't looked into them yet but I bet I would feel very powerful with that scanner just scanning away whatever it is I want in that store.

I checked how much Aerogarden is on Amazon last night and the AeroGarden PRO100 with Gourmet Herb Seed Kit is worth 169$ with free shipping. So I don't know if that's a steal or not?

Can we just have a cheaper 1/2 Aerogarden?

Half an AeroGarden is the AeroGarden 3 which has 3 grow holes instead of 7 and the retail on it is $99 including one seed kit. That actually is the one I started with and then bought a Deluxe and then Santa Claus, you know, delivered early on a few more, but really the little one is a nice place to start, as it is cheerful and space-saving, about the size of a nice table lamp:

The best price I've heard of anyone getting on a classic was $77 for a reconditioned one from BigLots (Retail is $149) and $169 is Retail for the Pro100. The lowest I've seen the Pro 100 going for new on eBay is $159 shipped, but personally, I think the Deluxe is a better deal, or the Pro200, although the replacement lamps will run a bit more because there are more of them.

I saw a Deluxe on eBay for $195 shipped, which is a pretty good price. The Pro 200 should be the same or a bit less.

Do they come in red? I'd like to have red small aerogarden (at first!) to match my unused red mixer. I work near a Big Lots and I will check over there if they're still open when I get off work. Thanks, drannhh. The picture you shared reminds me of a big egg.

You know, I wouldn't want the bug face as part of my decor either, because although it is cute, it would get old--I like a more traditional cleaner look. The "mini" as the AG3 is also called comes in just 3 plain colors: black (ugh), stainless steel (?), and white, which is what I have.

Stainless steel sounds the most preferable to me. Although like you, I'm not sure if I'm calling it right. Thanks, drannhh.

Hello riyasam. My wishlist was created due to a number of requests at first and then several nagging demands that I make one to make it easier for others to get me a present. And just because one has a wishlist does not mean I am expecting anything at all. Have a good one!

I can't remember if I used to write letters to Santa, glords. But yes, it is quite hard to start at first but with Amazon, they give you recommendations that are similar to what you were looking at and then it just "snowballs".

I did set a limit to the item prices. There are three or more that are around the mid-20s but most of them are under ten dollars. If you intend to make one, have fun!

You are lucky to have no memory of Santa Letters. I hated them! My parents used to give each child a Christmas toy catalog and tell us to get writing. They would say "ask for one big toy and one small toy, or Santa will think you are greedy and he wont bring you anything but a lump of coal." I would spend hours looking through the catalog, worrying that I'd ask for the wrong thing and Santa would think I was greedy. It was hard as a child to wrap your mind around big and small. When I didn't write my parents would again threaten that Santa wouldn't bring me anything if I didn't write.

I think the Amazon wishlist will be far less painful. I would like to get all of my friends and family utilizing this tool. This would make Christmas so much easier, and the best part is you can get your shopping done without leaving the house. I'm really excited to try it out this year, I just hope my friends and family will do it too.

I am aware that the site's initial reason for this is marketing and how to get people to buy stuff and make them more money... but they also have this organization feature that helps you with getting presents for others... have a great one, glords!

I completely agree. Amazon is wonderful for what it has done for consumers. Its ability to let people get on their and rate products is a wonderful resource for consumers. It makes things so much safer when purchasing over the internet.

glords, yes, I like the reviews and rating feature as well. I was looking at books I'm interested in and one of them (a bit on the pricey side) got more bad reviews and a couple yays so I'm holding off on that one. Maybe I'll borrow it from the library.
