I live in San Antonio,Texas and the interesting fact here is that the first Airforce Base (Randolph AFB) is located here in San Antonio. There use to be 5 military bases here until recent cutback in the military. SA is also the home of the Battle at the Alamo between Mexico & Texas. The San Antonio weather here is average 70-80 degrees in the Winter(Nov.-Feb) and Summer May-October is 89-100 degrees. Our rainy season usually in the Spring, so far we have not had much rain in several months. Today, Dec. 3, 2008 the temperature was about 70 degrees.

I used to live at Fort Supply, Oklahoma. It is named that because, it was a camp/fort and general custar stayed at the camp. there were many battles in the very spot the town is now, also, the last nominated indian princess is buried there.

Interesting facts about where I live? Yes I do, but these are probably better off being mentioned in the Australian section of My Lot, like: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2395579.aspx ... this section is about Texas, so I'll just spend a little time here, if I may! From a very reliable source, I've read that Australians, particularly Queenslanders, get on better with or are more similar to Texans & Californians than those from any other state in America. Most Americans tend to be more formal than most Australians expect, but for some reason, we seem to get on much better with Texans & Californians. Didn't your Presidents Bush come from Texas originally? I think he is one of the most misunderstood or unfortunate or misrepresented of Presidents in recent memory. People high up in our political circles who have spent a decent amount of time with him reckon the last Mr Bush was a darn good bloke.

I live in the "Tree City" of the United States, Claremont, California. Our little city is also home to the Claremont Colleges and many of the college buildings were built with funds provided by Andrew Carnegie. The Creator of Donald Duck, Walter Lantz, lived in Claremont and he and his wife, Flo, provided funding for an art pavillion and art classes at the botanic garden in our city. Our best kept secret is that several Los Angeles Dodgers live in the Claraboya section of our city. Thanks for the info on San Antonio.
