Nina Simone is one of my favorite artists of all time. If she's not number one then she's at least in the top three.
I found this video of her describing how it feels to be free and I am even more impressed by this very strong and talented woman.

I enjoy listening to her music. Her voice soothes and moves me. And her message, you can hardly get that from any musician nowadays. Here's one of my favorite songs by Nina Simone:

really.practically.i always rome on the roads and enjoy going free and doing free i mean alone.y because there we get many things .and where we can enjoy the natural pleasure and alpha and omega of each and every step we go in .life..through self......
we can felt only through personal experience

Yup, freedom varies from one person to another. That's what Nina Simone said in that video. You can't really tell another person what freedom feels. 
I find such liberating feeling when I'm out among nature as well, nageshnnr. Thanks for the response.

well i really must say that i dont know nina simone and i wish i could watch the video but curretly i really cant..... but i should say that i have a total different meaning for the word free....
just the other day me and my dad after we came back from my riding club ( i am a horse rider) were talking about the spirit of the horse and how the horse feels under our burden on its back and the bit in its mouth,.....
and i finally came to the realisation that when i am on top of a horse and he is galloping under me..... thats when i feel free.... thats what i would call freedom...

SO did you get to watch the video yet? And what did you think if you did?
I have a friend who's a horse enthusiast. She's been loving horses since she was ten and now she has her own horse and she tells me that just spending a day with her pet just makes her forget about the world's problems. Thanks for sharing!

sometimes when i am disgruntled about something,my parents always used to tell me that i am misusing the freedom,that i am taking my freedom for granted.they would often tell me about their grandparents,when they didnot have even the freedom of speech,before india became a free country.

The younger generation would always have it so easy, riyasam. Without the strength and the bravery of women who worked decades ago to fight for our rights, then we may still not be able to do a lot of things that we want and can.

Wonderful musician, wonderful lyrics there! I will go and search for Nina Simone now. And what does it feel to be free?
It feels absolutely happy without the shackles, without the fear of being misjudged and without the fear of being cheated and not loved. Feeling free for me means to be able to do my heat, to do all the things that I have always wanted to and to live life to the fullest.

Did you mean heat or heart, Mimpi? And did you get to find the great Nina Simone. I absolutely agree with what you said about being free... I guess the only thing that is different between us is what those shackles may include... I hope you're feeling much more on the up today, Mou.

When I was into feeling sorry for myself I might have asked a question like that. Are you feeling sorry for yourself Ms Saintly?
We are all free. Some of us have just forgotten that fact and feel trapped by society or whatever. Of course there is a vested interest out there that would have us believing that we are not free but I no longer pay them any mind.
Nina Simone had a fantastic voice and sure knew how to use it, but I find her music pretty depressive.

On the contrary, Ziggy, just listening to Nina Simone make my day better.
I don't think I am feeling sorry for myself but yes, I am a bit worried because the feelings that I thought I have gotten over are starting to creep up again.
You are one of the free-est person I know Ziggy. Forbidden Fruit and Go Limp has a "happy" tune but the message itself is not.
