A SCHOOL crossing patrol officer has been banned from decorating his lollipop with tinsel by council officials http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/74966/Council-scrooges-ban-lollipop-man-s-tinsel I think things have been pushed a bit too far in this case! What harm could be done that with someone who decorate the lollipop. The warning sign was still visible. What do you think about this story.?

I am so glad I read the link..lol Because I was wondering why someone would care if a man decorated his lollipop, not knowing that is what they call the cross guards sign. From the photo I seen it didn't appear to cover the main parts therefore was still safe. And as he said he still had on his yellow crossing guard outfit also, so people would have been aware of what he was and stopped. So I think this is just someone who got up on the wrong side of the bed and was a Grinch for a day when they phoned it in.Let the man decorate it as he pleases. He wasn't hurting no one or endangering them at all.

I live in the United State so was a bit confused about the lollipop man. From reading the title I thought that it was something about banning some one from giving out those suckers on a stick. That is what we call them. We would call your lollipop man a crossing guard. I just love learning the difference in American English and British English. Any way yes I too think that as long as the drivers could see and understand and that they are to stop it is silly to stop your lollipop man from decorating his stop sign. Some people just don't like any celebration.

There's nothing wrong with that officer in decorating his lollipop, because he just wants to get into the festive mood.. haha ^_^ But for the council, they are more worried about the distraction that will bring to the drivers.. hehe ^_^ SO in a way, the officer should know his limits in decorating certain things too.. And if there's an accident happened, i guess, majority of us will be saying that the officer is in the wrong for decoratin that lollipop.. lol

That is crazy, where is there Christmas spirit, what excuse did they make, it was hardly a health and safety issue!!! You are right it has gone to far, they are getting stupid, we can't do anything of any fun anymore incase we upset someone, well I say sod them bring back the fun, the tinsel, the banners, the decorations, whatever!!!

That is ludicrous, what are people thinking this beats the biscuit, is it now a crime to show some sort of celebration and making the children happy to see it? This makes me wonder aht are people thinking, how do they think just to do something as silly as that....littleowl

Hello ronaldinu Blimey it's a bit pathetic isn't it. I think that the lollipop officers do a great job in all weather and what harm would a bit of tinsel do apart from bring a little cheer and happiness at this time of year?
