Yes, it is true! Interest rates on T-bills have in some cases hit zero! Here's the story, NO JOKE! http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/081209/meltdown_treasurys.html I say that if current trends continue, it is inevitable that soon you will GET PAID TO BORROW MONEY! This is ridiculous. What do you say?

I would say that I am very glad that I am not an investor. This is an interesting twist on deficit spending, now it is deficit investing?

Congrats! You have coined what undoubtedly deserves to be a new term in economics. "Deficit investing"! Classic.

That would be nice! I just wish the IRS would go back to the days when the interest on personal loans was tax deductible. I believe it was in 1991 when that was no longer allowed. It would certainly help the American consumer but then why should the government help us when they need our taxes dollars to pay for their bailout funds!

Actually, your idea about reinstituting a tax deduction on personal loans is worthy of serious consideration. I'm surprised 0bama did not suggest it during the campaign. I seriously wonder why it is not being discussed now. Afterall, stupid ideas like the bailouts are being talked about. Why not a good idea like yours?

Maybe because my idea would help the middle class.

Wow! Now wouldn't THAT be a wonderful form of rough justice after all this crap that the banks have gotten away with! It is definitely ridiculous and quite scary on a number of levels too. All of this happening just because of people's desire to do whatever they can to try and keep their money somewhere "safe"! You gotta love how they also say that this is no reason for panic too; and have put this comment all the way down the article after they have already painted this picture of woe already!

Many have often thought the scariest words in any language are, "Don't panic, there is nothing to worry about!". I guess it is true.
