Hey everyone. I have had the worst day of my life. A few months ago I was told that the engine was going out of my car. Well, today it came true! I was driving and huge puff of black smoke came out of my tailpipe. Then I tried to push the gas, and it struggled and chugged to go. I had the thing all the way to the floor! Finally when I got there, it started shaking! Well my car is gone now. I have been so depressed about it. My mom said she would spend $2000 and get me a car. I feel so bad about her doing this, but I haven't any money to. This just adds to all my problems!!!! I loved my car. But it was 15 years old. It took me to many places and was so reliable. I hope I will get a decent one. Any thoughts.?

15 year old car? i think it need a rest. it is best to change your car when it is about 10 year old as if you try to save money by not buying a new one still you will lose good money by repairing it. if possible try to avoid old equipments it can become useless .

yes you are right. I should have taken better care of it to. But I didn't have the money to. It kept having all kinds of problems. It is not worth repairing. Time to bury it i guess.

Well, you COULD get a new engine, but I know a lot of people think that that isn't worth the money. I just hate the idea of junking a car, though. My 1986 car is just a few years younger than I am and still works well. Considering that your car lasted as long as it did, I think you probably treated it pretty well. There's no telling what you'll get with a $2000 car, though...hopefully you'll get lucky and find something that will last. Good luck!
