Hand Me Downs  | |  Did you come from a family who were more likely to give hand me downs then newer things? If so did they have a reason? I am the youngest child between my brother and sister, my sister being the middle and my brother the oldest. I used to always get hand me downs and while when I was younger I didn't understand the value of not only the item but of the money that was saved by receiving hand me downs, I did understand that I didn't like it. Now that I am older I realize that money is an important thing and saving it is even more important.
Did you receive hand me downs or do you "hand me down" your kids things? I used to play with toys that were my uncles and then my brother's, and while I was playing with them, I think you could technically consider them to still be my uncles and brother's toys. Transformer's were what they were and I always liked the red one because it turned into a tape player...
I had hand me down clothes too, but not so much really, more toys then clothes. Another one of my favorite hand me downs, which I think my brother gave to me, but at the same time I think it was still his, was a remote control truck. It was fun to play with.
My sister doesn't seem to hand me down her children's things.

| | | 2. modstar (4961) | 1 year ago |  I had too much hand me down things. I got Tonka trucks when i was a kid. It was hand me down to me by my cousin. Yup, they're hand me downs but they're definitely much better than toys on sale in toy shops. Those toys given to me were way ahead it's time. Hell, i can even brag about it if only i'm still a kid. There's really nothing wrong with hand me downs. People are just being practical especially right now, in times of crisis. This LCD monitor i'm using is another example of a hand me down, courtesy of my other cousin.
