Do you bring reusable bags to the grocery?

My husband and I are strong advocates of saving the environment. We do our part by always bringing large canvas bags with us to the supermarket when we buy groceries so we won't have to bring our purchases home in plastic bags. I'm glad that some supermarkets here in the Philippines have also taken a stand about this and now give customers incentives when we bring reusable bags. I also have a small cloth bag which I always bring along when I go out. I fold it inside my handbag and take it out when I happen to buy something somewhere. How about you? Are you doing the same to help save our world?

I usually do use the reusable ones. Though they don't always fit the amount of items I end up buying. But I will reuse the bags around the house for various things. As right now I'm out of trash bags and I am using one of those very large Kohl's Department Store bags and it fits nicely in my 13gallon trash can.

Yes, I usually bring my own bags. I have an old-fashioned string bag and a canvas bag. Sometimes I also keep a plastic bag in my purse so that I have it in case I stop somewhere and buy something. One store I shop at makes it really hard to use my own bags, so I don't bother there, but I do try to recycle the plastic bags as much as possible. A couple of thrift stores in my area will take them, and I also use them as the first layer of protection for books and DVDs that I sell on half.com.
