Where do you hang your stockings if you do not have a fireplace?

Before I moved in my new place. I didn't have a fireplace so we hung it right beside the tree on each side.

I just lay them under the tree with the other gifts. I use to put a nail in the wall and hang it but the nail was becomeing lose from the wait of the stocking and making the hole in the wall bigger so I stopped doing that.

We never had a fireplace to hang our stockings from. We used to just fill them and then on Christmas Eve, stand them up in front of the Christmas tree. Usually against a package or gift so they wouldn't fall over. I always dreamed of having a fireplace to hang them from. Now, it is just hubby and I so we don't do stockings anymore.

When we were kid we didn't have a fireplace. We hung ours in a line back the hall way from the livingroom. Where we live now we don't have one either. We have radiators so I'm going to make them look like a fireplace. Right now though our kids are at the age where they are getting into stuff so we have to keep them up higher. We hang them up along with the steps in our hallway.
