I think that women learning martial art is good for protecting them self from bad people. Martial art not just about fighting but olso good in health. When do you think a women should start learning martial art? Who do you think should learn martial art man or women?

Martial arts are a good idea for everyone: men, women and kids. They help a lot with physical and mental health, teach calm and discipline and make you so flexible you could bend your body into all shorts of funky shapes! If my back wasn't so darned fragile, I'd take it up - unfortunately it can't withstand the stress at the moment, so I'm stuck with just trying to walk normally, lol. This reminds me of a neat news item I saw a few years ago where a couple of girls were attacked while on holiday. Two guys tried to rob them. What they didn't know was that one of the girls was the national karate (or kung fu, or some other art) champion in her homeland! She said afterwards that she wasn't proud of what she did, but I thought it was great: she whupped them and left them sitting naked in the street!!

I think anyone can and should learn martial art. There is no wrong for women to get themselves in. This lies on some excuses. The first one is, women are more expose to danger - especially from men. So, by knowing martial art, they can hopefully get themselves out of the danger. Beside, like you said, martial art contributes to the fitness of one's health. Due to the fact that before someone starts to do the martial art things, he/she need to have some exercise ranging from stretching to pumping and can be more than that. Hope this shed some light to your question.
