apparently in my SMART state they decided to start a trend where they name schools after the area they are placed in which means one needs to change its name from Knox Doss Middle to Station Camp Next Year.. which means ALL areas with that name and ALL school colors etc that have ANYTHING to do with Knox Doss will have to be REDONE to match the new name..
which will cost up to $25,000!! HOW RIDICULOUS!!

I have to say i am very ashamed i live in that surrounding area. Do you know how many NEW schools around here are not named for the area. Rucker Stewart, Benny Bills, Vena Stewart, Howard...a few of the schools in the area not named for the area. So why change that one?? Are they going to change all the rest as well??

that is disgusting when kids go to school hungry to waste that kind of money in a name, the community should complain loudly about this.

And they can justify using tax payers' monies for that?
Sigh... it is not like the school is being privatised or something.
Why is there a need for the name change when people can recognise the name of the school and link it to the country or county it is sitting in.
These are the kinds of money wastage that I always frown upon.
I too see a few of these kinds of wastage where I am. But most of them are bourned by the company who decided to make the name change and not using tax payers' monies.
I wonder if there are any petitions againsts the name change.

I guess they couldn't think of anything to IMPROVE the educational system with what little money exists so they thought "hey why not WASTE it?!" seriously illogical. What gain is there to change a school name?! That sort of cash could help start a well needed program in an underfunded school or something. Talk about not thinking clearly.
