Torrents I prefer as I can leave them running in the background and they will complete when they are ready to complete. I use websites like torrentz.com to download torrents and my torrent client is BitComet.
I have used Rapidshare in the past, but only if someone provides a rapidshare line to a file I want. If I want to find or search for something to download, I will always use torrents.

one more disadvantage usin torrents..if u putting a huge file to download it blocks the space on ur hard drive as u start the download! thats unfair for those who dnt have a big hard drive..i remember trying to dwnload 4 dvds from torrents! blocked 20gb on my hard drive already n download was at 10% after a week!!

It's not unfair for those who don't have larger hard drives... just buy a larger one, they are cheap, at approximately 0.50p per GB now.
I do know what you mean about them blocking your hard drive, because it has to reserve the space so it can download without interruption. I believe you can disable this inside the torrent clients options, I'm sure it's possible within Bit Comet.

I would chose rapidshare than torrents because its much safer and less hassles.Just clik on a link and start downloading so simple. No need to install torrent software.

I use both. There are times that the file I need to download is in rapidshare and there are also files that needs to be downloaded using torrents.

I like both rapidshare and torrents. i find some virus in torrents but in rapidshare everything is clean and fine.
In rapidshare we have limit for the free users till now i am not able to use download managers in rapidshare.

Direct download would really be nice if your connection is really stable but, if your not on a secure connection and interruptions happen every now and then, when you least expect, direct downloading from file hosting sites like rapidshare or megaupload isn't a good idea, especially when you are downloading big files.
When your going to download big files, you might as well try torrent downloading since, even when the connection gets cut off, you can still continue when you regain internet connection once more. (^_^ )

i think rapidshare is good for small downloads of around 100mb. they will download fast and we can find out if the download was good or not quickly. but if the net connection is not good then rapidshare is the second option.as when u get disconnected u lose all the data u were downloading using rapidshare.
if u want to download movies then torrents are good. but u need to get good no of seeders to complete the download quickly.
happy mylotting!!!!

for me..torrents are more effective than rapidshare..you don't have to wait between downloads, you can interrupt and resume your download as you please..you get access to more content via different tracker communities and most of all you help others by seeding..
