This year I had the extemem good fortune to receive the kind of help you only hear about on television. I was in a serious bind, and I needed money that I didn't have and wouldn't have for months in order to keep my situation together. A friend of a friend had overheard me discussing my troubles and not only took care of it, but insisted that I not try to pay it back. He simply asked that if I ever found myself in a position to help someone in that manner that I do it instead of paying him back. Kind of a "pay if forward" kind of deal. Thanks to the blessing that came in the form of that person, I was able to bless a couple of other people that needed help. Have you had the opportunity to meet a real Good Samaritan?

Noting like paying it forward. The blessing you get from passing it on far outweighs any payback! Conggratulations!

Seven years ago, Christmas, I was short on money because of covering my Mom's medical costs and other things. I had three dollars left in my wallet and needed fuel like crazy. I pulled into my usual gas station and was waiting patiently in line. It was a pre pay station, so I had my three dollars out and was ready to go into pay for the fuel. The man in front of me finished filling his car and came back to my window. I opened it and he stated that he didn't want to go back into the store and get his refund, and if I would get out of my car and hold the nozzle he would move his car, come back and hold it for me until I pulled my car forward. Well that's what we did, and he drove off. I put the nozzle in my car and started pumping fuel. I was gifted with $10 of gas!!! It filled my tank. I was able to keep my three dollars since it was all the money I had until pay day...and I blessed that man many many times since! Since then I always try to help out someone else, especially since I live in the country and the way our road systems are set up we have people come back where we live thinking that our road is the way to another town. Two years ago Christmas Eve there was an 18 wheeler trying to turn around close to the gate to my home. I had the feeling the man was lost, so I stopped and waited for him to turn around. I was right, he had taken the wrong turn and was trying to get to his family for Christmas. They had rented a condo on the beach for Christmas. I told the man that I would lead him on a short cut that would get him to the highway that he wanted. We got to the highway and he got out of his truck, and explained that he didn't have any cash to pay for my fuel, but could he hug me? We hugged and as I wished him a Merry Christmas I told him I wouldn't have taken the money anyway and to hug his family for me. And finally I added that instead of paying me, pass the love on and help others along the road. It wasn't too much later that I was driving from my home to Stanford Hospital where I am being treated, and there was the man that I led to the highway helping a motorist that was struggling with a flat.
It always goes through my mind when I do something good for someone else, "Don't let the chain of love end with you!"

"Don't let the chain of love end with you." I really like that! That is such a wonderful anecdote, thank you so much for sharing it!

Thank you so much for the best response! It is the second best Christmas gift I have gotten this year. No offense, but the best gift was that my 14 year old Siamese was sooo sick on the 23, and I managed to get her to a vet on the 24th (that was a major miracle in itself...everyone was closing at noon!) and her problem was a urinary tract infection. If I had had to wait until the 26th to take her in I would have lost her. Murphy, my Siamese was a birthday gift from my Mom (who has since passed away) and she is very valuable to me. To have her recover so well and so fast is the best gift I have received.
I wish with all my heart that people would take that song to heart and pass the goodness along. It would be a much better world if we did.
Thank you again for the best response, and have a wonderful New Year.
