I have come across a lot of people, who while watching the news are not actually listening. why?.. well because sometimes when i enter the room and news is started, i ask the person watching, "so what's she saying?",
ninety percent of times i get the response "hell i dont know", or, "why dont yu hear yourself?"..
So i assume these guys are just looking at the moving picture and not the actual content.
What do you think? has this happened to you?

I also feel the same thing as like you.
When i ask my little sister what she is watching she said that nothing.
This actually happens due to the less concentration of them towards the media services.

well people tune into with interests them they are only half listening until something comes out that they are really interested in and the will watch with great interest. I love to watch the news and I listen to everything unless I am distracted because somebody is talking to me or I am doing something on the computer, or I have to get up and go into another room for something.

There are many times when I have the news on the tv and just listen to it when I am on the computer. Otherwise I don't pay much attention about the news. Unless I read it in the paper.

Yes, most of the time I do listen to the news when it is on. At times it might be about something I don't want to hear, child abuse or animal abuse that I try to tune out but I still hear some of it. My husband is so bad about any show on TV when he is on his laptop with not listening.

I think they're looking at it but were not paying attention because their mind were wandering off. That's quite common, and it doesn't happen with news alone, it just happens that the television is almost always tuned to the news :D Although I find it hard to NOT concentrate on what I am looking at the moment.
Thanks for the comment on my discussion!

hey dear
U have observed the fact. Even i have noticed it myself many a time. Its happening more since 24 hours news channels have erupted at such a huge number. They present all sort of rubbish talk, leveling them as breaking news. That removes the interest of the viewer on the news. Rather it gets on as a formality to sit on the sofa ,with a news channel tuned on & u just watching the visuals without making any effort to get through the content. Even i do that most of the times. I only seriously listen to the headlines, when the are telecasted...thank u & happy mylotting.
