look at the situation described below and write a sentence using if.
Question... ) Many people didnt realise that smoking was dangerous when they were young now they are middle aged they are having serious health problems.
Answer....) if people................................,they............................now they are middle aged.

One answer might be:
"If people realised when they were young that smoking was dangerous, they wouldn't have serious health problems now they are middle aged."
Your original sentence, by the way, is a little ambiguous because 'when they were young' might refer to 'when smoking [is] dangerous'. It would be better to phrase it: "Many people didn't realise when they were young that smoking was dangerous; now they are middle aged they are having serious health problems."
