Why are people so cruel??

I have always wondered this. I am planning on asking God this question when I die. I have encountered so many cruel and heartless people that don't even care about others. My ex inlaws were the worst. They used me, stole from me, and still to this day treat me badly. Then there are those that are so self centered. Like this person lives above me in the upstairs apartment and makes constant noise. I have gone back and forth with the office and they are on her side. So she keeps getting away with it. And she knows I have health problems and so does my son but still she keeps making noise. She just dosent care. Why are people like this? Are they born this way? I was raised to respect others feelings and treat them as if I would like to be treated. I am always kind to everyone, even the ones that are cruel to me. I would appreciate everyones thoughts on this topic.

Unfortunately, I think it's human nature...the nasty side of human nature. I think we all have that inner nastiness inside of us that comes to the surface every now and then, but we can temper that by thinking about how our behavior and words affect other people. It's really great that you're ALWAYS kind to everyone; I'm definitely not at that point yet, and I don't think many people ever reach it. You set a good example for other people to follow, and perhaps that's all we can do -- you certainly can't make people treat each other nicely. Humanity still hasn't figured out how to end war and murder, so is it any wonder that we haven't mastered basic civility yet either?

I was raised to be kind to others. And, I think I was just born with a gentle soul. I was also born with a undying love for animals. I think animal lovers are good people. How can someone be cruel if they love these beautiful creatures so much? I do hope and pray that people will learn to be civil and caring to one another. I just don't like people at all when they are cruel. I don't understand how they could treat people like that. I think that has been one of my faults to, because I was so sweet and kind people took advantage of me all the time. I think that is why I am alone. But I don't care. It is better to be a good person.

Well thats is unavoidable situation, all you have to do is countinue what you do to them, show all they good attitude and let them feel that you care and love them without any condition at all. And pray to God that they will change someday the way they treated you, when your intention is pure, everything is possible in God. Have faith and happy new year.

I guess you are right. But some people just won't change. I look at it like they are the ones that are missing out on the good and happy things then. I have my faith in God and always will.
