I was at work this morning, and the news was on the television. It was a very touching story about a 5 year old girl somewhere, (I can't remember which city) in Nebraska. This little girl was at home with her 52 year old babysitter and the babysitter passed out. The little girl picked up the phone and dialed 911. They played the 911 call on the news and the little girl was so calm and collected. She told the dispatcher what was wrong and everything without the slightest sound of panic in her little voice. When the ambulance got to her house, they found the babysitter unconscious on the floor. This little girl's actions saved the babysitter's life. The little girl will be honred next month and given a key to the city for her bravery. I know that I have taught my kids at young ages how and when to dial 911, have you? Are you as touched by this little girl's actions as I am?

I think that it is so amazing that kids are so calm in these situations at times. I think that it is important for parents to teach their children what to do in emergencies, and obviously this five year old was taught to do so. I know when my daughter gets older, I will have a list of emergency numbers next to the phone, and teach her when and how to use them. The little girl parents must be so proud.

I think that it is important for kids to know what to do in an emergency as soon as they are old enough to understand.

What a cool-headed kid. Most kids would have been scared in a situation like that. It shows she was taught well. Good for her. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**[/b]

I feel proud for the bravery of that 5 years old girl. She stay calm and collected in spite of her babysitter passing out in the floor. She is well thought and was able to remember to dial 911 right away instead of feeling the panic. Every child should be instruct that way so that in times of emergencies they know what to do. For such a young tender age she already saves someones lives. And that is already a big accomplishment for such a girl with her age. I salute her and her parents for the good upbringing of their child. She is a hero by all means.

Wow, that kid had been taught well. I think kids behave smartly like that when adults around them teach them how to behave during emergency situations.
