It does not matter where you live in the USA, please sign it. http://www.allieslaw.com/ Being the mother of a dead son due to a drunk driver, it makes me angry to see people being killed, not just from drunk drivers, but drivers who are doing other things while they are driving. JUST DRIVE!! No make up application, no eating meals, no phone calls or texting, or anything else. Alessandra "Allie" Augello, August 15, 1991 - November 10, 2008, Victim of a distracted driver. The 17 year-old teenager had lost her life, less than a mile from leaving her school, Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School. She was driving 45 mph on a 50 mph street; she was not drinking or driving reckless. It happened because the other driver, a 19 year-old who was also killed, was allegedly on her cell phone. So, a girl who could not wait to make or receive a phone call is dead and she killed someone else. Is it that important to talk to someone while driving and if it is, why not wait to call back or pull over to answer!! My cousin has a hands-free phone in his car that is voice-activated. He said he did that because he refused (as I do) to answer a phone while driving. I know that cops are busy but I see them pass by people on their phones. Pull them all over!! Also, fines are too low. Make it high, really high, like $1,000 and they take your license at that moment and keep it for 2 weeks. I bet you that will be a HUGE deterrent! Wake up people and stop doing this stuff!! I am so angry right now. This girl was the daughter of good friends of mine who, like me, lost their child to a speeding driver, just before his 4th birthday. Please send prayers for her family, too.

I very seldom talk on the cell phone but even at home while on the house phone in front of the computer, I play games on the PC while talking and I can't concentrate fully on both at the same time.. I don't see how anyone can think they can concentrate on these "important" calls while driving.. I agree with you 100% and I would be so very mad if someone had taken the life on my loved one while talking on a phone, that is so horrible.. What call can be so important as to bet someone else's life on it.. I say they need higher fines also and maybe the loss of phone privileges.. We need to be more responsible people..

Donna, first I love your new photo. You are a pretty lady! I like the idea of taking away phone privileges and if you kill someone, it should be as tough as a DUI. I know it is hard but cops need to be more aggressive. It only takes ONE time so that ONE time someone says, "I will do it just this once" may be enough. Three were killed, not two, as the offending driver was also pregnant. What a devastating loss!!

There should be no reason for taking a life and there is no phone call that is anywhere near as importqant as any one member of my family or for that matter of anyone else's family.. I don't think that I could ever get over the anger at losing a member of my family due to someone's stupid negligence.. It just isn't right.. I also appreciate the favor with the picture, but I am going to have to get a new on as this one is a bit too blurry.. Thanks again, Donna

I signed it, but I think you are supposed to be from that state.
