Is there any musical era you want BACK?

Music's a lot like fashion: they're trends that come and go. I had my musical mind up and about circa Backstreet Boys, when I was starting in Grade School. I listened [and watched] as Backstreet Boys became N*SYNC, A1, Westlife [my personal favorite], and then evolve into Blue. Blue began the era that led us to today, wherein music is a lot more like noise and the lyrics don't make any sense. It's common knowledge today that our music sucks. Just admit it, people. It sucks so bad, sometime's we'd rather opt to go back to the classics. Aerosmith's a good choice, no matter how screamish it got. Is there any musical era you want to go back into style again? I want the 'boy band' era back, because back then everything wasn't as complicated as this. And Stevie Wonder! He's been up and about long before I was actually born, but his music is simply likeable, you just can't NOT hate it. And we know you sang Ma Cherie Amor in the shower. So don't lie. :D Tell me what you think.

80's music, hands down. Of course, I'm biased because this is the stuff I loved in my early teens. They say that the music you listen to when you are a certain age will be the music that has the most impact on your overall taste in music. I don't know how true that is in general but I can certainly vouch for it. I almost feel sorry for the teens of today. Years from now, I wonder which singers/bands they will become nostalgic about...?

Again, I don't know what sort of singers were there in the eighties, but I'm sure they're good. And--to answer your question, I think it'd be the Backstreet Boys. Or maybe Chris Brown or Rihanna. I doubt somebody will actually remember 50 Cent--goodness sakes! That would just be terrible.

The 80's music definitely are one of the best era's in music for me. The 50's are also cool, nobody has come close to the Beatles or Elvis. Today's music I will definitely agree with you. Its full of trash. But there are some gems too. We are talking about american music ok. Local music for me is ok.

NO ONE BEATS THE KING OF ROCK AND ROLL. =) I agree!! And the Beatles are simply fantastic. I don't really know what sort of singers were there in the fifties and the eighties, but I'm sure they sound better than the ones we have today.

My hubby would definatly like the era of 80's Big Hair bands like Poison, Motley Crue, ect. Though some are still around they are not producing as many hits as they used to. I would like the 90's when alternative music was popular. I used to love listening to Smashing Pumpkins, Hole, Nirvona ect.
