Are You In Favor Of Death Penalty?  

DEFINITELY IN FAVOR OF IT! starts precedent to show these drug users and pushers, maybe even drop drug use rate!!! great idea

Ya i do because when punishments get severe the act of doing mistakes will get reduced.In India this method is prevailing a lot. I dont think its bad.

i am also in favour of that death penalty because i do not think if any body has done such a big mistake for which he is going to be punished as death i think what will be the benifit of the victim because if he gets a death punish their family will suffer further and no body is going to get benifit from it so death penalty

I am in favor of the death penalty. I think something needs to be done about these users and pushers. In my area, they do not do nothing but slap them on the hand and release them.

No. I'm not in favor of the death penalty. In the US the only things you can get the death penalty for are murder and treason and in the last few years six states have passed laws allowing for execution for second offense sexual crimes against children though no one yet has been executed under these new laws. There is support for repealing them as the effect may be to make these offenders even more dangerous. If they're likely to die for molesting a kid than they are more like to kill the kid to keep the kid from telling on them.

I worked in a police department for almost 8 years. I've seen a lot of evil things. I do absolutely believe that there are people who commit crimes that are so atrocious that they do deserve to die.

The reason I don't believe in the death penalty however is because as judge and jury, prosecutors and defenders we are all too human.

Too many innocent people have been convicted and sent to prison, even to death row. My own department had caught two men that were convicted of murder and sentenced to prison that were innocent. They weren't under the death penalty but they had served several years when we got a call out on a suicide victim. He had imposed his own death penalty and left the evidence we needed that he was the murderer and not the two men we sent to prison.

Witness lie. Attorneys aren't always competent. If you need a public defender because you can't pay for an attorney you'll likely get one that has never tried a death penalty case. How would you like to get a brain surgeon to remove your tumor that had only studied the procedure in books and had never actually even participated in the surgery with another surgeon to guide them?

You are at the complete mercy not only of the court but of your lawyer. If they don't call a witness. To bad you can't use that witness even on appeal because they weren't part of the original trial. If your attorney misses a filing date on the paper work, too bad. He doesn't get punished you do. If evidence is lost you're out of luck.

On top of that there is no way that the death penalty can be fairly applied. One gets it and another doesn't for the same crime.

I especially don't agree with the death penalty for drug crimes. If we were to kill everyone who'd used drugs we'd be killing off probably half the worlds population. People can change. People do change. Not all of them but a lot of them. Life is precious and it's worth reclaiming the people we can. Each is somebodys baby, somebodys sister or brother, somebodys husband or wife, father or mother.

Hello Gwapako_28! Honestly, I am not in favor of death penalty. Killing in the ten commandments is a mortal sin so it means that every human in this world doesn't have a right to kill human. I do believe that we let God to give the judgement to those people who don't have conscience killing. So if we killed those people, we and that criminals have no difference, we are killers too.

I am in favour of the death penalty for drug pushers. Years ago when Malaysia introduced the death penalty there was an outcry. But the government persisted. Now several other countries have also introduced the death penalty for drug pushers. The minimum amount before this sentence is given depends on the amount of drug found on the peddler.

The punishment may seem harsh. The reality is drug pushers are slow murderers. Just read and look at the statistics. They also cause break ups in the family structure, and cause problems to the society and country. Drug pushers are still around, but the death penalty has prevented some people from joining the wagon.

yes i think it is the last thing that govt can do
to stop the problems of the public from going into a havoc...
if this is done it can act as a dire consequence for those who think drug use to be smarty and fashinista...
atleast half of the problems of the society will be solved...

I am in favour of deth penalty, but for drug pushers i will say no.. ya its really a serious crime but in anyway death penalty is too high for that. thanks
