How nit-picky are you about bringing out and using holiday items?  email this discussion to a friend?

This year is the first year I bought holiday glasses. In the past I've never had glasses made for a specific occasion, but these 1$ glasses were cute and had christmas stuff on them such as reindeer, wreaths and snowflakes.

As I was putting dishes away today, I thought to myself "should I put those reindeer glasses away somewhere? If they stay in my cabinet, I'll end up having people grab them in the summer even, but then I thought... do I care? I actually like the size and shape of these glasses a lot so who cares if I use them all year round? It made me think of some people I know who rotate their entire kitchen every season and holiday. They put things away in boxes and only bring them out for the holiday. I can't handle all that organization, I'd forget I had the special christmas glasses. I think it's easier to keep these things in my kitchen and not buy more than I can fit in my cabinets.

What about you? Do you have special holiday dinnerware? Do you rotate it out and make sure it all gets put away as soon as that holiday is over? Or do you just have a few things like I do and don't care if they are used year long???

I guess I'm not too nit-picky. I mean yes, I put the vast majority of seasonal things away after the season is over, but a lot I still keep out all year long..for instance it's not unusual for me to drink my tea in either my big Christmas type mug or Halloween one..LOL. I really don't have much in line of seasonal type dinnerware though..but my bedroom is something else again.. my bedroom is well kind of different to put it mildly...On each wall I have things that are representative to each season...on my eastern wall I have things on a spring theme, on my southern things of a summer theme, on the western wall I have things suggestive of a fall theme including Halloween stuff I keep out all year long, and the northern wall I have Christmas themed things

Good :) So I'm not the only one who still wants to use my holiday glasses! Your room sounds fun! You just have to sleep a different direction depending on the season :)

I asked this question mostly because I've heard people or seen people who seriously pack away any glass, dinnerwear or decor that looks like christmas and don't bring it out again until next christmas... and in the meantime they have thanksgiving-wear, summer-wear, etc.

I have a snowman plate I almost packed away with xmas stuff but it wouldn't fit... so then I said "hey, it's still snowing!" I'm keeping it out for the rest of the winter and I'll just store it in the cabinet since I can use it for months.
