A great save! | | | | A good friend of mine recently lost her mother and is at this moment having a memorial service for her. I was supposed to go but didn't because I came down with a really bad cold or the flu yesterday. However she asked me to burn her a cd of songs for the service and after. I never knew she liked gospel music let alone hip hop style gospel! Who knew? I was playing some Kirk Franklin and Mary Mary when she came over a couple days after she passed, to ask me to burn her some appropriate music. She didn't have any idea what songs nor where to find them aside from the fact that her computer is a relic. Long story short I found about 20 different secular and gospel songs which applied to the situation and burned her a cd. She came by for it two days ago but it wasn't done and she didn't have time to wait, had to pick her kids up from school and then it just slipped her mind until she got home that night. Since I was supposed to be going I told her I would bring it with me. Except that I called this morning to tell her that I was sick and so I wasn't coming. She came by and picked up the cd. She went to play it and it didn't work! So I told her to give me 5 minutes, then I went to Playlist.com created a new account for her and started loading in most of the songs that were on the cd. When I got to #3 I called her and had her log in and it played even with me being on the same account loading the rest of the songs. It could have been a disaster if it were not for the internet, playlist.com, and my extensive musical memory. And it would have stood out in her mind that not only did I not attend but that the cd that I made for her memorial service didn't work so in a way I was still able to attend. I have been sitting here thinking that that was a clutch save! She is one of my only homegirls and though we don't see nearly enough of each other anymore and I liked her mom quite a bit, she was a nice lady so I am both glad and grateful for being able to fix this problem without giving anyone my cold/flu, and using nothing but my brain and the internet. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |

| | I assume that she would do the same for me if the tables were reversed. I would have to walk her through it, which would take longer than doing it myself but she would do the same for me. She's a great chick and a lot of bad things happen in her life from time to time. Like the day before her mom passed she had had one of her tires replaced on her boyfriends truck and then came over to see me. On the way home the tire she had replaced came off of the truck and sent her sliding down the median and into oncoming traffic during rush hour. She wasn't hurt or anything but a few years ago she went off the road in Big Bear and broke her back, so the next day after this accident her back and neck were tweaked but how her bf can construe that as her fault I don't know. She is my friend and I would do just about anything for her, just because that is what friends do, right? | | | | MonkOVision (936)

| | It worked out, that was the important thing. They liked the music and it helped with the memorial service. As the appropriate music will do. I took it as her endorsement when after the memorial was through she went in and added her pic to her new profile and left the entire 20 song list intact with no chantges. She's been listening to it since and she says that it gives her some comfort. I think she is more comforted by the fact that someone cares and would go out of their way for her sick or not. Regardless comforting is what she needs and as I am sick I am unable to render it in person. | | | | | | | Stop Viral Infections 100% Natural, fights colds, Flu, HPV, HIV and many other viruses www.zeohealth.com | add comment | | | |

| | Hi Sharone, before I started my comment I will like to make some statement here you can choose to ignore my comment if you think this is your privacy. Your discussion seems like you are doing some sort of confession online. I am not a priest or jesus but I'll try to make my comment here. You don't have to feel guilty by not attending the funeral. At least you have a good heart that you don't want to spread the virus to everyone at the same area. But you are in a dilemma because she is your good friend and your auntie "so call". I think if a friend don't understands you personally, is best to burn the bridge after you've told her your side of story and she can't accept it. Nothing wrong with you, is just you don't want to pass on your sickness that's all. Happy MyLotting. | | | | | | | sharone74 (2521)

| | Not at all! I wan't seeking absolution. I called her and told her that I wouldn't be able to attend because I was sick. Anyone could hear that I wasn't well, and she came over to get the cd that wasn't working so she knew that I was in fact sick and not avaoiding the service. I just wish that the flu could have held off for a day or two so that I could have attended and offered moral support in person. Her mom was a really cool person. She had been taking care of her for the entire 5 years I have known her and so I have gotten to know her mom a little from visiting her home and stuff. When it is the loss of a parent though you can often need all the support that you can get. And the JA that is her boyfriend was not being supportive at all. She had the support of 5 of her six children though so everything turned out fine. | | | | Hvaniday (768)
