Well, as a Colts fan, I have to say that it is a sad day in Indianapolis as I am watching the news conference with Coach Dungy. He has announced that after 7 seasons with the Colts, he is retiring and moving to Tampa. He is one of the best NFL coaches that there is and for sure one of the nicest. He is a respected person in the community and it will be a loss to Indianapolis.
With 92 wins and 33 losses, he has to be well respected as a coach and a friend to the players. I wish him the best but we will miss him in Indianapolis!

Well, when I heard this I was a little shocked as well. He has really helped make the Colts who they are today, and personally I think he is one of the better Coaches to announce his retirement since Greats like Mike Ditka, Holgren, and many of the other wonderful coaches out there as well. In a way though as they all tend to get older we will see a lot of Good coaches continue to announce their retirements and wonder what will happen to the teams out there from here.

I agree that he is one of the better coaches. We knew that it could happen, but it was still sad to see him leave. He has been followed by two other members of the staff and I hope that it doesn't effect the players or the team as a whole for the next season.

Knowing nothing about Football, I cannot comment on the NFL, but I can see by your post, that Coach Dungy was very good for the team. Two third winning average is a very good and I hope the next coach does as good. I do hope he enjoys his retirement in Florida and I can see you are remembering him with fondness.

I hope that he enjoys the time in Florida with his family too and I am sure that he won't be retired long. I have heard that Obama wants to work with him and have him lead a group that deals with fathers being role models for their children Dungy does like to work with children so I am sure that he would be great at that.

I have not heard about that yet. I live in Indiana. I will have to watch the news this evening and see what they have to say about it. Thanks for sharing with us.

Well, I suppose that you have heard about this by now. Jim Caldwell will be the new coach and I hope that he can coach the team with the wins that Dungy has given us. I also hope that he is as well liked as Dungy. It will be a hard position to fill as I think that Dungy is one of the favorites in the football series.
