Do you know fugu which is a delicious but also poisonous fish?  

oh i dont want to try it..even if i can afford to buy it, still i wont make myself put into a dangerous situation..have a nice day

I heard of Fugu fish and it's a very delicious delicacy meanwhile it has severe toxicity so eating fugu fish needs you to have courage. for me I will not try for it cuz there are lots of other fishes I can choose...

I do not think the flavor or curiosity is great enough for me to decide on taking the risk. no thanks!

Fugu fish is only poisonous when being prepared by untrained chef. This is because certain part of the fish contain toxin, such as liver and skin.

In Japan, not everyone can prepare a Fugu dish. Those who wish to prepare such fish need to go through high level of training.

This is why this fish has become one of the most celebrated and notorious dishes in Japanese cuisine.

However the rate of death from the toxic of fish is consider very low to almost nil. Snakes bite kills more the Fugu intoxication.

There are also diner and chef willing to challenge the toxicity of this fish by introducing small amount of this toxin into the meat of the fish. It will not kill you, just give you some numbness on your mouth.

I think I will give it a try if got opportunity, since is not easy to get and expensive to buy.

Hi youless! i didn't know it is also called Fugu. I know it being called as puffer fish. I have seen one while vacationing in my husband's ancestral home in the province and our niece was so excited to see one for the first time (so am I..haha..). It was swept ashore and I think it was trapped and was not able to go back to the sea. My niece chanced upon it and pick it up and showed it to us. We were kinda amazed how it looks like it was blowing its body make it look like a balloon. After a few seconds, we put it back to the sea. I wouldn't eat it too even if it is very delicious. The risk is too high, I don't want to be poisoned too.

a few months ago.. some members of a same family died after they've had 'fugu' for their meal...
i dont care if fugu is considered a gourmet delicacy.. and even someone would serve it to me for free.. i dont think i will want to try it.. i will definitely not allow anyone from my family to try it... why take the risk... ?? i'd rather eat something that i know for sure is 'safe'..

Isn't that kind of like playing russian roulette? And why would people risk their health and even their lives on a food? It sounds ridiculous to me, even if it tasted like pure manna from heaven I still won't try it with the risks attached! No way! Why risk your life in this way. Life is too precious to risk it on something like a fish! Would you put your toe in the sea if you knew there were man eating sharks around? Some people my friend have no sense!

I have watched about this poisonous but edible fish in one episode of the Simpsons... and i am really amazed that people actually risk their lives in eating that fish... not because of the taste... but because of the thrill... eating fugu is like the Japanese version of Russian Roulette... so i wouldn't dare try one... i am not that adventurous...

Although its tasty, I wouldnt risk my life to try it.
