Computer Noise  

you can't blame HP for putting enough ventilation for your system. it's their job to do so. the noise could be anywhere from broken fan or it just needs oil, i dunno. it would be better to let the distributor take a look at it. use your warranty, it's your right.

You can bring your laptop back to the retailer or an official HP Service Center. In all likelihood, the cooling fans are defective. The noise is a result of unstable axis, making the rotation wobbly, so that it generates more noise than normal. Normally, that only happens when the laptop is already old and the build-up of dust on the fans makes each individual fins differ in weight, thereby resulting in wobbly rotation. Yours is brand new however so the most probable explanation is a defective fan.

Since it's brand new, the warranty is still very much in effect and depending on the store policy, they may either replace the whole laptop, or they'll replace the cooling fans. Either way, it's best that you bring it back to them rather than wait. If the fan's really defective, it wouldn't perform its job well and you might damage the laptop in the long run.

If the fan isn't broken, and you can have it changed without damaging your warranty, do so. Some fans just don't run quietly. I installed a new fan in one of my desktops, and I had to replace it with a new, quiet running one, as it gave me a headache it was so noisy.

what i would recommend puting small foam padding inside the computer and find the fan that is making the noise and replace it

Naturally the more powerful the computer, the more noise it makes. How good is the CPU? If it is around 2.4GHz or above, don't expect to hear a pin drop. But if you are concerned, just take it to the manufacturer if you still have warranty and ask them to tell you if it is alright. Happy Lotting!
