Would you send your child to this type of daycare?

I notice, as an education major, not many men going into teaching or childcare. I don't know why, because I'm sure every man has their reasons. Anyway, my one professor told me "People don't like men watching their children". Would a man watching your children bother you? Would you send your child to a daycare that only had men working there?

Hi smartie, To be very frank, I never even think like that because I never seen any such institution. After reading your discussion I wonder why the man is not dared to take it as a profession. I am sure that they can’t do it. The profession needs much patience and they may not qualify for the post. I agree that there are some fathers who single handedly caring their kids. But running an institute like, I think it is difficult for them. I am giving my opinion after analyzing my circumstances. I am not sure whether it is right or wrong. My kids are going to a day care and I do observe the same and felt that how difficult to handle many kids in one time and I appreciate the lady who is running the day care. But I may add that many people appointing male servant for look after their kids, but there may be one or two kids maximum.

Honestly, you want me to be honest right? Well, I don't have a well equipped answer or any sort of facts or figures but as a mother, my gut says no, never ever would I let a man watch one of my daughters. I guess as an overprotective mother, the only man that has ever or ever will be entrusted with the care of my daughters is my husband, their father. I can't justify my thoughts or even say that their rational but it is an inate instinct. No offense to any men out there as I'm sure there are a few that would be wonderful with children in a day care setting but I just couldn't do it. Then again, I don't let women babysit either. Just me, my hubby, and my mom. I'm a freak.
