Clean up.

Where I live it is against the law to leave your dog's 'business' on the sidewalks or anywhere for that matter. Even in dog parks we are required by law to pick up after our dogs, yet you would be surprised how few people actually listen to it. I get very mad because when I take my dog for a walk I make certain I bring a baggie with me to pick up his mess, yet I see tons of other owners who just walk away from their pets waste. I get especially upset when a dog owner walkes past my house, lets their dog go and then leaves without even picking it up! I have my own dog's mess to clean up thank you, I don't feel that I should have to clean up after another person's dog too. Do you have laws like this where you live? Do you clean up after your pet when you take them for a walk?

We have the same laws. Try taking a picture of the offender (both the owner and the animal). Let him know you will turn the pictures over to the code enforcement dept., animal care, and the health department if he doesn't clean up after his animal. If the same person continues to leave his dog's business on your property you can take the owner to court and sue for damages. Both for your time to clean it up as well as damage to your lawn. You can also try returning the product :-) If you take his picture and have the incident documented I'd encourage all the neighbors to return any business left on their lawns too. Attach a note saying you left this behind, and let him know his picture is on file with the city or whatever agency that governs animal clean up laws.

Its the law here to clean up after your pet. However, most people don't do it. I have a yard so I very rarely walk my dog but once in awhile I do. I always have a baggie in my pocket. Some people are so very inconsiderate.

we have this law as well here... but as you say, there are still some people who didn't abide to it... they still just leave their dog's poos everywhere and walk off... it is very annoying especially if you accidentally step on it... i hope people can be more considerate when they bring their dogs out for a walk... i myself didn't have a dog at the moment... take care and have a nice day...

We certainly do have laws for picking up after your dog where I live. If a person does not clean up after their dog, a hefty fine can be imposed. I would never not clean up after my dog. It is just common courtesy. Those who do not clean up after their dogs, do not deserve to have a dog. If the person walking past your place and leaving without cleaning up after their dog is a regular occurance, call the city of where you live and complain. Let them know the average hours that the dog handler walks by. Perhaps the bylaw enforcement can compel the person to start cleaning up. I really dislike it when I am walking ym dog and come across someone who didn't clean up after their dog. It is really annoying and so rude. For the most part, I walk my dog in a local park, Most all of those who have dogs who frequent the park, keep up their end of the deal. It is usually on the boulevards that I find the mess left for the next passer by.

This is really bad that people leave their pet's mess like that. But in my country there is no such law so people can easily mess around without any fear. I simply hate this system of people being so irresponsible. I would love to see people sitting around with no mess in the public place!!!

We do have these kind of laws in my country, but the situation is just as you have described or even worse! Apart from laws, we also have bins in public places which are for the sole purpose of throwing away doggies' busniess. I wonder how many people actually use them. Although I don't have dogs myself, I see people taking out their dogs with their doggie bag in their hands, but still leave their dogs free to do their busniess wherever they want, and than just pretend it wasn't their dog who had done that mess. It's really ridiculous. Certain people are so pissed off by this attitude that they do their own 'signs' and hang them near their house or other property. Some signs read like " Don't let your dog mess in front of my house or I'll send it back to you", but I guess nobody obeys them. Anyway, I think it's still against the law to make up your own signs.
