Euthanasia - Mercy Killing

Euthanasia is defined as "the act or practice of killing or premitting the death of hopelessly sick or injured persons in a relatively painless way for reason of mercy" When I was in school I had a law class, and a sociology class in the same semester and for my culmination project in both classes i discussed Euthanasia seems like cheating but it wasnt because in one class i argueed it was for it and in my other class I argued against. Me personally I think that I do agree with it if there is a person suffering with a terminal illness and they are in excutiating pain all the time, even the pain medicine thay are on dosnt touch it, and the dont want to do it anymore I believe they should have the right to decide to stop fighting and be given an injection of some sort to end all that pain. But then on the other hand, i think of the family some might understand some might now, i think of religion and would that be ok to "kill yourself" And then there are all the legal issues with how it should be done, who it should be done too, and who is allowed to do it. So like i said i have indepthly researched both points of view and would really love to know how you all feel? Because me I have been on the fence for a long time now.

My stand regarding euthanasia is simply, it is God who gave us life and it is him who has the right to take away life. I know that the intention of euthanasia is to spare the patient from further pain and suffering, but it still does not justify taking the decision into our hands and killing a person.

I do value human life and I don't think that another human being should have the right over the life of another human person. So for me euthanasia is a definite no. Pain is part of life and man should take it with dignity. I am sure that the medical advancements have progressed a lot and can alleviate pain in terminal illnesses.
