Fond memory of playing a board game  email this discussion to a friend?

One of my fond memories of playing board games is when I was young, my grandparents would take me and my two brothers to their house for two weeks in the summer, and one week in the winter. During our time with them we played board games just about every night. Payday, Sorry, Aggravation and Road hog just to name a few. I really liked to play the Road Hog game especially. throughout the years I have tried to find the game, but cant seem to even find any information about it. It`s like the game never existed.

Do you have any games that bring back fond memories, and as an adult do you own the game or are looking for it?

I still have a Trivial Pursuit game given to me for Christmas in 1991.

One memory that sticks out is when I played the "Password" home game with my brother as a kid. The password I had to convey was "permanent," but I accidentally got it mixed up with the word "pregnant." I kept giving passwords like mother, baby, child, etc. without success.

I have many fond memories of playing board games...

When I was a kid, my family had a cabin in the mountains. A few times a year, the whole family would vacation there - grandparents, aunt and uncle, cousins, parents, and siblings. We barely fit in the place. We'd gather around the old dining table and play games - usually Yahtzee and Password. Whenever I play Yahtzee now, I swear I smell pine trees.

When I was a teenager, my sister lived in NYC, and would come home to Colorado at Christmas time. We'd stay up late watching old black & white comedy movies, giggling, and playing board games.... trying not to wake our parents. It's still not officially Christmas until my sister and I are in the same house with a board game in front of us.

I remember winters when the power would go out, and my brother and sister and I would gather on the floor around the Monopoly board (somehow so much more fun by candlelight!) and play until the dog decided to sit in the middle of the board.

Board games were a very special part of my childhood. They seem to symbolize a coming-together of those I hold most dear.

I'm glad I inherited that old dining table from the cabin...
