Does your school still serve peanut butter? I have read that peanut butter in name brand jars is ok. Who pays when these things are tossed? Does the school lunch program have to eat the loss? I was wondering how if any this effects the school lunch programs. It is important that every child have lunch.. for some it's the only decent meal they have. Have a nice day xoxoxoxoxo

schools around her haven't been able to serve peanut butter in about 10 years. there are too many people with allergies that kids aren't allowed to take anything with peanuts and peanut butter to school

no for kids that are allergic to peanuts, being in contact with it in any way can kill them. So schools have to remove anything with peanut in it in order to be safe for all children. Yes kids need a decent lunch but it does not have to be peanuts, there are a whole host of foods they can have at school.

I think my daughter's school did pull all of their peanut butter products. I think each state takes a loss when these items are pulled.

You know, Raydene, I actually do not know what our local schools are doing about this situation. I know my children have not said anything about there being any problems with their lunches. Hmmm. Now you have got me a-wonderin'.

I know at least one of my local schools has been a peanut-free school for some time already (most likely, the other two as well). And yet the food banks still specifically mention peanut butter when they make their appeals for food donations.

Hi raydene! How are you now dear? I do hope your health is very much better now. Here in our country, lunch for the students does not offer peanut butter. Most of lunch meals consist of rice and choice of fish, meat and vegetables. but the school canteen also offer other choices such as sandwiches (ham, chicken, egg, etc..) and other pasta dishes. And it is not free, students have to pay for each dish served to them. Never been a part of the school program..however, there are a few schools now who have made it a part of their program. Take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith210
