As a mom of two, one of my children just turned a year old and she is teething, so she is getting fussy in the middle of the nights....and between her, my husband who has been slow and work and is restless and he is sleeping in fits lately, and my son who is a mover and actually falls out of bed at nights (he is 5)... I am lucky to get 5 hrs a night anymore... I dont get to do naps during the day so I have been extremely exhausted this past month.
How many hours on average do you get to sleep?

Not enough thats all I can say. I am 28 weeks pregnant with bad back so sleep is something I dont get enough. I cant find a good position to sleep and even when I do fall asleep I wake up with back pain (I dont know how I always end up sleeping on my back), or I need to go to the toilet or the baby starts playing football. So the next few years should be lots of fun. Oh and I have a nearly 6 year old who is scared of the dark and needs to drink a lot during the night.

ok, been there and done that, I am so sorry I know exactly what you are going through....my baby girl just turned one....and my 5 yr old (4 then) kept wanting to sleep with us and he was a kicker, so I was never in bed for long and became a couch sleeper alot through that time.
I hope things get better for you, sometime is you have a lazy chair or a comfy couch you can reposition yourself that way and get some sleep... just a suggestion.
thanks for the response.

I really don't have any problem sleeping long hours before; I can sleep 8 hrs or even more sometimes but lately it's seemingly changing. I only get an average sleeping hours of 5 hrs. I guess this has something to do w/ my being at home all day doing nothing. Am no longer working and stays at home 24 hrs a day and I rarely move a lot as the house is not really that big to clean. Am doing daily chores but they are very light ones and almost did nothing at all and am also lazy doing my exercise because am spending most of my time in computer and that's what am suspecting for this short span of sleep am having right now.

I am there. My son is 6 weeks old. Sleep, excuse me, could you remind me what that is? And I have a 5 year old daughter. When she gets frightened, our bed is where she ends up. Then there is her sleep walking. And then it is even harder to sleep. 5 hours? I could use it. But I know what you mean!
At this point hubby and I take turns letting the other nap. And that is only once every other couple of days. Hang in there. It won't last forever.
