Newer music not so good?

I completely agree! Im 20 - almost 21- and I can't stand to listen to the radio stations anymore. I hardly touch anything that isn't my own Ipod. To find newer music that are similar to what I like I go to pandora.com and usually find some good stuff. The only popular things I like seem to come from movies unless they are people like Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum, and Taylor Swift. (I only like new country I guess!) When it comes to pop, rock, etc I don't like the majority of what is coming out so I just don't bother. The new stuff just sounds so different that I either don't agree with the lyrics or it just doesn't sit well with me. Its odd for me to shun music, but I have been for the last year or so. You aren't the only one!

Well I grow up through the mid to late 80tys and early 90tys and I enjoy a lot of music from those times, but I also still enjoy some of the music of today I do agree that some of the music of today is a little manotness and a lot of it sounds the same, but every now and then theres still a few good songs that come out, I love music and I always prefer to keep an open ear.

I think we have very much in common.
My favourite genre has been classic rock for a while, and new music mostly sucks in my opinion.
Queen, Led Zeppelin, Guns 'N Roses, ACDC, Rush, The Beatles - all some great bands, their music all being of the highest quality. There is much more, but I won't bore you with all the artists I listen to hehe:)
You don't really get music like that now, and my music collection is probably very similar to yours, although I'd be interested to find out, send me a message if you want.
Did you like the final fantasy playstation game series? Then you'll probably love the Black Mages - awesome japanese band that do all the music from the games, for example Sephiroths one winged angel theme, and they are a rare example of a modern band which make quality music, certainly not classic rock, and probably one of very few artists on my computer that aren't classic rock.
I tend to listen to some metal, only the stuff that has a feelgood vibe about it.

tl;dr version: I feel the very same as you, probably because old music was the best music, modern music can't be compared:P

I am not a fan of most newer music either. I think it has just gotten to be too much for me with all the profanity and the such that goes into it. I love the old songs from the 60-90s much like you.
