Are you comfortable in telling your moms and dads: "I love you."?

I told my parents I love them up to the day they passed away. My family is very affectionate and even before hanging up on a phone call we say "I love you" and we all know we mean it sincerely. I also urge everyone to tell their parents they love them on a daily basis....we never know when they will be gone!

I agree with you.. But in fact, I usually tell them that after receiving money, or anything like that. It's not good at all, but it's hard for me just telling I love you everytime, sounds cheesy.

I am so close with my mom. She is like my best friend. I talk to her daily and always tell her I love her, even when I'm angry with her. My dad on the other hand I don't think I've talked to in like a month. Unless he says it first those words don't usually come out of my mouth.

we arent the type of family that does the mushy I love yous, but I think pretty much when we say our goodbyes at the end of a visit it is always the kiss on the cheek, the hug and I love you... my mother said a long time ago you never know when you are going to see that person again, so you should always leave it on a good note.

I was a child when they started this because of when my grandpa died on my mothers side... they were never close and only saw him on fathers day and christmas and when he died, alot of the kids (my aunts and uncles) said how fast it was that he went... after that, my mother always makes sure she tells us she loves us at the end of a visit.

Well yeah i tell them i love them but you don't always have to say the exact words ..There's a lot of ways of showing love ..one of them could be following what they tell you to do

before i don't usually tell my mom that i love her not unless she had given me a big favor or money in that matter but after what happened to me recently, as much as posible i always show my mom how much she means to me and tell her that "I LOVE HER SO MUCH", and give her a warm hug.

It isn't all that uncomfortable for me to tell my parents that I love them. We are really close and whenever I leave the house I tell them I do just in case something happens when I or they are out.

No! i am not comfortable telling that to my mom & dad. This is probably because they never verbalized this feeling towards me. all their affection was displayed in actions. I think it is natural for me also to resiprocate in kind.

Howver things are different between my son & me. Since my wife keeps using the phrase "i love you" to him, even he uses it frequently with us. My son also makes ILU notes for us in our absense.
I belive that a hug can also convey the same message.

i am person who can share the feelings easily with the ones who are closest to my heart.i donot feel hesitant to express to my parents that i love them completely.when i say this to my parents they love it and they have such a lovely smile on thier faces when they say they love me too and i would like to hear from them again and again and they love to hear it from me my sister and my brother.i feel its very important to express your feelings to those whom you love and close to your heart its important to let them know how you feel about the ones who are close you and it makes them feel that they mean a lot to you and have a great value in your life and you need them in your every step of life.so i make sure that i let my parents know how i feel for them and how much important thay are to me in my every step of life.

my parents never told us that as children, so we didn't become accustomed to being affectionate towards each other, my mom even gets weirded out when i hug her, i tell my kids everyday that i love them because i don't want them to feel as i did with my parents, i want them to feel comfortable expressing their love and feelings with me.
