Is your dog spayed or neutered? There was talk that a new law will pass that all dog owners are required to spay/neuter their dogs, but did that pass through? What is your opinion about it? Do you think dogs should be naturally natural or do you this it is good to prevent stray animals?

Many cities are passing mandatory spay neuter laws. They usually have an out clause for breeders where the breeder can pay a yearly fee to keep an intact animal. Spaying and neutering pets is the easiest way to control the pet population and prevent the animals from being killed in shelters. I wish all cities would pass such laws.

i believe in spaying and neutering. we will have our 2 dogs undergo this process maybe next month. i was told by the vet that in cases of male dogs, if you don't really plan on breeding them to spay them. this is to avoid prostate problems or cancer in dogs in their later years. this will also lessen their frequent marking of territories. puppies are cute but they would later on become added responsibilities and if you are too busy to care for them, better if you spay or neuter. if you wish to have another puppy or pet, get from the rescue center. cheers!

I don't know if requiring ALL dogs to be spayed is fair. What about people that breed dogs for a living? I agree that dogs that are not going to be bred or ones that are strays should be neutered or spayed. There are so many unwanted pets in this world. There are so many animals killed everyday. Controlling the pet population would go a long way to help that. Both of my dogs are fixed and I feel it is my responsibilty to do so. They are house dogs and are never out off of a leash, but you never know. I wouldn't want them getting out and accidently getting another dog pregnant or getting pregnant. It makes me much more comfortable to know they are fixed.

We always snip and it's very hard for my husband to go through it with the males, i just don't identify with my animals that way, I know we will all be happier once it's done.

HI I have 2 dogs, and they are both neutered. I believe in it. I got both my dogs from the spca, and i seen so many dogs, that need a home. I do not know if that law passed. I do know the spca where i live you have to get your dog fixed, if your adopting one that is not already. There are to many homeless dogs.
