The Nikon D90 is a DSLR with video functions.
It is one of the first of its kind, where a SLR has video capture capabilities.
Its D-Movie function allows the camera to capture high-definition videos at resolutions up to 720p at 24 frams per second in motion JPEG format!

The D90 Sports a newly designed DX-format CMOS image sensor that can capture shots at up to 12.3 megapixels! That is heck of a lot of pixels for a DSLR IMHO.

Its wide ISO sensitivity range of 200 to 3200, with the ability to increase up to 6400 or to lower it to 100, expands your shooting range as well.
Coupled with the Live View mode, it lets you frame shots using the LCD, making those hard to reach angles possible with ease.

If this model came out a year earlier, I would definitely ditch the D80 for this!
Now I am just curious. Anyone here got the D90? Can you up load some of the video and still shots for all to see?

If you think 12.3 megapixels is a heck of a lot, the Nikon D3X is 24 megapixels!!! ;)

Every photo I've seen taken with a Nikon D90 is nothing less than stunning. One thing I've particularly noticed is the way the D90 captures colors! It makes for some absolutely brilliant photos! Everyone I've spoken to who owns a D90 hasn't even tried out the video function, as they are too busy taking great photos! Everyone seems to agree that this is the absolute best DSLR you can get for under $1,000 and I believe it from what I've seen!

I don't have the D90 myself. I do own a Nikon D50, D70 and D300. So if I were to pick up a fourth DSLR it would definitely be a D90! Mainly for the video features, since that is something my other Nikon DSLRs don't offer.

Don't jump in too quick. The Nikon D5000 delivers 12.3-megapixels in a DX sensor, with 720p HD movie capture (with sound), and it’s Nikon’s first DSLR with a fully articulated vari-angle LCD display.

Then there is the Canon EOS 500D which features a 15.1 Megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor – ideal for large detailed prints or enormous cropping possibilities. The ISO range reaches up to 12800 ISO with a noise profile to match the D300, and unlike the Nikon, the video is FULL HD (1080P not 720). And zooming and auto functions all work in HD video on the Canon, but it costs about 30% less than the D90.

And don't overlook the fantastic Panasonic Lumix GH1 which might be the most versatile and perhaps the best choice of all for an interchangable lens, video-enabled DSLR camera.

No, I don't have Nikon D90. Because I bought a nice digital camera last year. I don't want to spend more money in the photography in a short time. But I have to say that Nikon D90 is a DSLR I like. Besides the good quality of photo shot, it can even record videos and this is a big improvement for DSLR. If I am going to buy a new digital camera again, this will be in my list:)
