I'm thinking of making a little movie. Does anybody know how to do all the editing and such? Which programs do I need to look into to create these things? All I have is a video camera as of now... any tips?

You can use Macromedia Director - a very good tool for editing movies. It has many featurs that can do lot of changes to your movie. Once you have finished with making video from your camera, copy the video file to your PC and open it with Macromedia Director to edit it as you like

If this is the first time you are going to do video editing, then go for windows movie maker. Its simple, has numerous options and you can compile the video into many formats. Try working in it and once you have gained some experience ,move to more advanced programs. Ulead videostudio is also a decent software..

Windows movie maker is alright, can even turn pics into a movie clip. There are a lot of free editing programs out there, and most of them do not seem to do what I need. Did your video camera come with some software? I noticed mine had a great program to turn my videos into DVD's.

Wow, interesting! Mylot is useful to find information, haha. I will check those sites out. My camera is a few years old so it didn't come with any software.
