One of my favorite books  | |  Where the Red Fern Grows is one of my all time favorite books but it is also one of the saddest books I have ever read. My fourth grade teacher recommended it to me and I even saw the movie adaption. It was such a great but sad story. Does anyone else enjoy this book?

| | 2.  maezee (4139) | 10 months ago |  Holy cow. We read this book in fifth grade and I cried. Several times. But it's an AMAZING book. I didn't like the movie as much as the book (like a lot of movies adapted from books..the books are just better), but it was OK.

A guy friend of mine had the misfortune of finishing it in class and had to choke back tears to avoid crying in front of the entire class. It was a beautiful story though. Sad but beautiful.
