Would you prefer to be an employee or an entreprenuer?

I always wanted to have a business of my own before the age of 40. I've seen many people grew old being an employee for almost all their life. I just cant imagine myself with the everyday routine. Waking up early, taking a bath, eat breakfast, travel and work and work and work and then go home. Sure there are some risk factors in having a business but i always believe that your capability to handle such problems will make you a better person. How bout you guys? Would you take the risk or be a robot forever?

I prefer to be both. Right now I have put up a small business with my friends, but I'm still employed. I'm still not confident enough to leave my current job, and even if the business booms, I still prefer to keep my job. I just don't want to put all my eggs in one nest, that's all.

You are just like me. I always wanted to have my own business. Always hated the idea of having a boss and the routine of everyday work. Unfortunatelly i am still in this routine and getting sicker and sicker because of it. I really hope one day I can have a business of my own.

i would suggest that you come up with a feasibility study on the business that you really want. project the initial investment that you need to accumulate and the possible return of income plus be bold with your plans. when you have everything prepared, start making a move. it's the hardest part i swear but when you're in it, you'll get use to it and before you knew it, it has already become part of your system. when you start, do not stop! a lot of obstacles will surely come your way but it will test your personally. you will feel proud of yourself when you solve everything at the end of the day. goodluck to you my friend. hope to hear more from you. :-)

This one is real easy for me. I have had experience doing both. I have run my own businesses twice, one doing painting and the other running a recording studio. I spent about three years doing painting and six in the studio. I have recently had to reinsert myself back into the workforce and it is a very disheartening feeling. We all have to do what we have to to survive but it has been a hard road downgrading myself to work for someone else. I love the freedom and free time I got when working for myself. No bosses to answer to, set my own hours, truly enjoy the fruits of your labor. A job ain't nothing but work!!

You know my friend, it really depends on your inclinations because like you, you have an interest and maybe the skill to be an entrepreneur but others may not at all have that interest or skill. Also, it depends on what oposition you have in your work. If you are already in the higher ranks and earning asubstantial salary and involved in calling the shots, you would like to stay on. We all have opportunities of advancement in a job or in an enterprise and not be robots forever. It is quite risky also to go into business so if you don't have the skill or inclination, you would prefer staying on in a stable and safe job with plenty of room for promotion. So it all depends on a lot of things. Sometimes, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush but then again, no pain no glory.

Hi there, Yes i also dreaming to have my own business one day. As of now i am planning to be an employee and im happy to work and earning money for a living. I just need to work and work and save save, less stress and retired then get back to the Philippines.By that time i got enough money , i got my pension and i can go a holiday, have food for my belly and my family and roof over our head, just a simple life on our family farm. Running a business is very risky, stressful specially when you almost bankcrupt, always thinking your money, your shop, your employee if they are working properly or not, if no one's buying your product, lots of bills and millions of debts from the bank oh oh oh sounds like one of my friend lolz. Happy posting.

I'd like to have business of my own too... i'd like to be a famous entreprenuer someday... i don't have a stable job because my health condition doesn't allow me to do so.. so i guess, having a small business is the solution to my long time financial predicament.. i've been sick and i spend most of my earnings that i've got online to my medicines..

gracie04, im just a little concern. having a business even a small one needs more attention just like attending your own child. and sometimes stressful as well. do you think your health condition can manage the stress? :-(
