I was cleaning today and I had to lift some boxes to get them out of the way. I dont know why I lifted them I really shouldn't lift anything with my bad back. Well now I am in a lot of pain. My lower back,my hip and my legs hurt to the bone. Feels like a toothache in the back and legs. I think I will just go lay down soon and call it an early night.

I am so sorry to hear that. I too suffer from a bad back. I had surgery 4 years ago and cannot life more than 10 lbs and can't do alot of the things I used to do. I still find that doing things like you did today causes me problems as well. May I suggest taking some advil or advil PM. I do find that the PM ones help me sleep and not be as sore and tight in the morning. It does cure but it certainly helps me. Good luck and I hope you feel better tomorrow!

Advil is good for back pain. I ended up just taking a Tylenol and going to bed. I feel much better today.

Well...I am a day late...LOL! I am so glad you are feeling better...back pain is one of the worst things to go through. Its funny...tylenol never worked for me...maybe cuz it doesn't have an anti-inflamitory in it...guess that my luck...LOL! In any case take care of that back...NO more lifting stuff you shouldn't be lifting!

I did have a good nights sleep last night and I feel much better today. The pillow between the legs helps a lot.

hello moneymommy
i am so sorry to hear that you lifted those boxes like that and now your back is hurting. and your legs. and yeah, if you have a bad back, then you shouldn't lift on anything. i do not know your living situation but get somebody to lift stuff like that for you. and so sorry that you have to retire early for the night, your not the only one that has to turn in early like that sometimes, there are lots of different nights that i have to turn in early myself. i hope that you are feeling lots better tomorrow.
take care and have a beautiful evening.

My doctor thinks that one day I may need surgery to. I would hate to have surgery done because you just dont know if its really going to help or not.

that really hurts my dear moneymommy. i suffered from the same injury years ago. it's so painful that it even crawls down to my legs. until now i even suffer from some pains not only from lifting even a lighter weights but whenever i seat on the wrong side. i would suggest that you do not lay down where the pain is. and you must promise that you won't lift anything anymore. i swear moneymommy but you won't like it when it hurts the next time around. you really need a good rest. :-)

I slept with a pillow in between my legs which helps take the pressure of my back. I find that this does help a lot.

Thats a big problem with lifting weight that u might injure your back and if the posture wasnt right the chances are u would actually hurt it..human back bone is very delicate and there are discs in between each vertebra which can slip so easily and i do hope u didnt slip that.. if pain is severe just consult ur family doc asap.

oh no, that is not good...and worse yet when you know you shouldnt had done it... but I am a guilty one of that as well.. if I want and need to get something done I am not good at waiting for someone to do it, I do it and then suffer the consequense....LOL
good luck and take care of yourself.

Thanks,I always like to do things for myself and I hate asking other people to do things for me. So I will suffer the consequences for it. I will just go to bed early tonight and put some ice or heat on my back and take a Tylenol.

Wow, you need some bed rest and possibly a lot of mineral ice on where it hurts. YOu need to have some cold or hot compress on that. Hot compress doesn't usually work for me, at times cold does. But mineral ice is a Godsend.

I have a back pain for several years. It is really difficult to cure it.Maybe you can try some Chinese medicine such as Chinese plaster or you can try acupuncture.I think you will surprise at the curative effect.
