The Food Channel is a favorite of mine, but I wonder, who can really affort to make all those espensive foods the stars make on the shows? I have been watching some of the shows and making a running list of cost of ingredients, and some of the meals top 30 or 40 bucks to make. And if you add in the wine or mixed drink...it's even more. Why doesn't HGTV do a cooking show that covers how to cook on the cheap, whole meals for two people, for five bucks or less?

Most of the time, nope. I do like watching it though b/c I get some great ideas and some of the recipes are really well priced for the ingredients. You just have to watch for them. My favorites are Rachel Ray and Paula Deen. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I like to watch the gal with short black hair, can't remember her name at the moment, but she does the healthy foods. And my husband likes anything with Emeril.

I like your suggestion here, Jellen. Who needs to spend outrageous amounts for meals at home? Who are you trying to impress? Nutritious and tasty, as well as economical, that is the ticket.
