Does religion divide us? Why 'belief' is harnessed to wage war or terrorism?

ok weird we got talking about this just yesterday with my parents. i think because these people think everyone should be like them, like and belive in. when people can't except the fact we all are different and have different belife or whatever then the fighting begans/

Depends.
Most Islamic people i've met are nice and they are not antisocial.
And none are terrorists.

I think it depends on each one of us.
The problem is in our their head, not the religion.

The whole issue is that these Weak minded Terrorists go to any extent to motivate innocent youths to become terrorists,such that they have begun to use terrorism in the name of religion....

Truly saying no religion uses force or evil to bring down humanity,no matter what the reason is.

Its the right education and alleviation of poverty that can control terrorism ...

So let peace prevail and hope that God punishes these evil monsters from the surface of Earth ....

Hi there, i am Islam. But, i don't like to hurt someone because different on religion. I have meet with other religion, and i look many of them is nice. I think religion doesn't divide us, in this world...are two kinds people: love and hate. If we love each other, then will come peace. And, if we hate each other, then will come war for that age. Lets hope war will be over, before all people suffer because of war.

I am a muslim and I am glad to say that islam doesn't support violence. We are not suppose to haram our neighbor and our religion just like many says, love for your neighbor as you love for yourself. Our religion does say that you can defend yourself if you are being attacked but that doesn't start a war or conflict of any sort. I do not agree that muslims should be associated with terrorist and I am sad that there are a few people that claim their actions based on islam and taint the views of other on the religion.

Religions can divide people if the philosophies they center on doesn't respect the dignity of human beings, or negate the purpose of the existence of human beings. Human beings are not the center focus of religions and thus they can be easily made use of by ideologies, turning people into evil of self-centeredness and selfishness. Human beings exists for the sake of religions, where in the first place, religions are to serve humankind and bring people happiness, but is the opposite. When that's the case, religions can be use as convenient excuses to destroy fellow human beings, behind the momentary pleasures are twisted, disturbing, depressed self derived of any happiness, living in the incessant hell of sufferings. No one is to blame but we human beings, and blame it on our stupidity and ignorance.

The main clerics and people who are breeding this terror groups, are encouaring the young people to take this bloodshed in name of religion. May be no religion says to kill innocent people. They are taking this idea in name of religion.

Do Islamic people generally marry outside their own. NO,we divide ourselves through
religions, looks, money, clothing, ethnicity, greed, fear they all separate us. Religion is just another bad reason. Truth can only bring us together belief has proven itself a failed system for thousands of years and yet we continue its fruitless path. The things that excite me about life are free and simple.

There are good and bad people of faiths. It happened in every religion not only in Islam. The point here is those wage terrorism is not really the representation of a religion, they are just using the convenient of a defenseless religion for justification and doctrine for recruitment to advance their twisted cause and thus achieved personal agenda.
