What would you do?

I would honestly probably keep it! (Is that horrible of me or what?) Just because I'm in a bad situation financially.

And plus, even if you were to turn it in - where would you turn it in to? And how would anyone know who it belonged to?

Unless there is some identifying feature stating the money belongs to somebody,then it seems to me that the money belongs to you. You got lucky. However, hold on to it for a month so as to see if anyone calls in for it. That would be my thing. If not, enjoy.

I would honestly turn it in, my concience wouldn't let me keep it. If I lost that kind of money, I would want somebody like me to find it. I would hope that whoevers money it is, that the people would give me a reward. That is if the owners were found. But if the "real" owners aren't found, then the money would belong to the finder, that would be me.

Hi disvachic! Such a temptation! lol.. If there is a name on the bag, I will return it but if there is no one who is claiming ti, I think i will keep it. I would really like to think that if I will be in that kind of situation, I will do the right thing. It is not mine and not mine to keep. I have found some valuable items before and have returned every single one of them to the right owner. $10,000 is a lot of money and during this hard times, that is such a big temptation for me. I do pray that I will always do the right thing!

That money would have been thrown there by mistake. What I'll do is to check for any name or ID and if there's none I'll go to a reputable radio station to inform the public that I found this bag full of money. But, I will have to ask the claimant to describe 'his' bag to make sure that it really belongs to him.

WOW!!! That would be a big issue if I found it! And I think I couldn't hold on being a famous man with that much money! Hahaha... Police station would be the first instance I have to go to inform that bag.

Well sugar, I can answer that one with 100% accuracy because while working for waste management in Chicago, my co-worker and I just happened upon a paper bag just rolling on down the line. He grabbed it and the wet bottom just fell out. You should have seen us trying to grab all that money before it hit the chute. we ended up with a little over 7 grand, so we got together at lunch, split it down the middle, and never spoke of it again. after work we took a few of our fellow workers out for pizza and drinks, and the next day went back to work and acted like nothing ever happened. Let me be the first to tell you that you run across a lot of things working a job like that, some good, most bad. They told us to report things out of the ordinary but most never do. I've seen folks find everything from cash to guns to drugs and even fetus's. Needless to say It wasn't a job I wanted to keep no longer than necessary.

In this day and time keeping it would be my first thought. my second thought would be that much money wow how could someone be so careless and my last thought is another mans trash is another mans tressure LOL

i wouldn't keep it, i'd be afraid to, it's illegal to keep things you find isn't it? i worked at a document management firm and we had to prep the documents before they were scanned or filmed. I opened a letter one day for someones expenses and found a £10 note inside. I handed it in and the person was so grateful they sent me a box of chocs! very nice gesture i thought considering they probably cost half the value of the money i found. honesty pays;)
