My Dog Won...................  

Dogs are smart. And it looks like you have a great one! Why did they dig up the lilac bushes if they were next to your fence? Sounds like someone who didn't know what he was supposed to remove - just clear the entire spot! Glad he didn't get your trees! You need to give your dog a special treat!

aww--Spunky's gorgeous and bravo for her!! She was protecting her mum's and dad's Maple Tree. I would have been upset myself it I saw one of my favorite trees demolished like that. In fact last summer I WAS upset big time. I related this in a discussion where "tree pruning" was being done all around my neighborhood...uh, tree pruning, more like mangling to me. The jerks sawed down way too many limbs of all the trees making them all lopsided. I USED to have two maple trees in front of my apartment. The older one must have been planted when my apartment building was built, maybe 70 years ago....then there was what I called the "baby" tree. Some fifteen years ago or more a whole bunch of new baby trees were planted in the neighborhood...ALL eventually died save for mine. The kitties used to love to watch the birdies settle in the tree...it gave extra shade which was great during the summer. well the fricks chopped down way too many limbs in their "pruning"---it weakened the tree. One night while I was eating dinner it was a very windy, rainy night. My one cat Pyewacket became all upset and couldn't understand why, as usually NOTHING bothers him. He kept jumping up on the window, looking out toward the baby tree..and there were no birds in it....Anyway,I'm sitting there eating and next thing I hear this tremendous crash...yup.."my" baby tree had fallen...don't ask how upset I was...I still miss it and so do my kitties. He must have sensed the tree was going to fall, no???

Sadly, my mutt is not smarter than me, nor you, nor your dog. I spent a good half an hour untangling my mutt from a wire cable he found in the tree area that he likes to hide in. Poor dog! It's bad enough he wraps the rope he's tied up with around his legs to the point where he looks like a rodeo calf after the cowboy gets done roping it, but that wire cable was something else!

Go Spunky Go!! Go Spunky Go!! lol What a charm of a dog!! lol She knew what's important and she knows how to protect it! If she can't do it then she'll get someone who CAN!! Go Spunky Go!! lol Hopefully "mom" will plant something else so she can have shade in the heat of the summer! Come on mom! I protected your tree now protect me!

What a clever little Spunky and thank goodness for her that you mange to save the maple tree, nope my two cats are a bit useless as they just love to cuddle up and sleep on my armchair or om my bed, but nothinh exciting ever hapopens round here, all is peacefull. Love and hugs.

hope that you will replace those lilac bushes with something
to help give her shade because she is such a good watch dog
and she deserves to be kept cool in the hot summer sun! She
is definitely a beautiful doggy! And she even saved your life
too, don't forget that when you were stuck in the snow! You
better treat that sweet doggy really good! She is really very
special and she loves her Mom alot!

Sparky I have had one animal that was smarter than my kids and hubs, but she didn't even try with me, (I was her favorite, LOL). Her name was ChiChi and she was a spoiled baby, she passed away last year at the ripe old age of 13 in doggy yrs, 91 in human. Broke my heart in two. Now I just have devious 4 legged kid's, they all know how to play me, esp my African Grey,(But she is 2 legged), she calls me like she is calling one of the other animals, whistles and says, "Come on Baby, Rub, want rub!" "Want treat, come on Baby". Now how can you say no to that, she has a large vocabulary and learns easily. She is the smartest of the crew of 2 dogs, 2 cats, a lion's head bunny, sand crab and Cleatis my Beta fish,(of course he has no legs) who bumps his nose to the glass in the fish bowl to get my attention, he loves for me to talk to him, and his bowl sits right beside me on my end table. Now add all these with my 2 legged brats, and put your imagination to work...what a family, never a dull moment. Hugs Marilyn
