hi,
people do ask you about your name and you would gladly tell them.has anyone ever asked you about your surname?
mine is Panda (of course not the one who lives in the woods of china).

Well, i donno. Its not a surname, but the entire family will go by it. The house will always be inherited by the family and never sold.
Surname didn't really exist in India - not originally anyway. Its more common among Britishers. We started using it when they were here, converting last names in surnames.
Most of us have our father's first name as our last name - not a surname.
Isn't that more common here?

i had no idea about that.is it so...have you heard the indian dynasties...long before the britishers come to india...they all had a surname...i guess
