Don't Go to the Circus!  |

 Many of you animal lovers out there might already know what treatment circus animals put up with. but for those who don't, here's the gist of it: circus animals are abused. How else do you think a circus gets an elephant to walk on its hind legs, or for animals to jump through hoops, or for monkeys to ride bicycles? These are unnatural things that animals don't know how to do. Trainers will do whatever it takes to make a profit off of these animals. It's terrible.
If you want more information on what happens to these animals, I suggest you visit PETA's website.
I was very broken-hearted when I first learned about this. The circus should be something kids love. It should make us happy. It used to make me happy, until I found out what those animals had to go through. It's awful.

A lot of people just don't realize how UNNATURAL it is for animals to be doing "tricks" for our entertainment value, let alone the horrendous things that ring leaders do to the animals to "train them in" (hello electric prods). A lot of cities already ban circuses, which is awesome. You should consider making a petition for your city.:)

2.  lilaclady (19681) | 11 months ago |  I would never go to a circus, I just don't think it is nice seeing animals doing things they were never meant to do, its demeaning, I don't even like to see dogs having to beg for things, maybe this is why i like cats so much, they are in charge of themselves...yes there is so much cruelty forced upon all animals and i wish i had the power to stop it all...

I think dogs don't like wild animals and that's why they are safe to keep at home. I also don't train my dog a lot and like him do what he likes. I love animals too, and want to see how amazing they can do after training, but that's true it's cruel that the animals trainers force the animals to do tricks. So I also think I won't go to a circus again.

I once went to the circus, it was very long time ago, my mum brought me there to see animals when I was 2, I don't remember a thing of course.
I don't think I will go to the circus again, it is so funny to see animals do such amazing things/tricks, but you think deeply about it, you will know how terrible they are trained, their livings must be so poor.
I love animals so much, they are so cute, I love elephants so much that I will buy stuffs with elephant icons. I went to Thailand before, so many elephants was chained and forced to walk, I was so sad to see it as well. Not only the circus treat animals badly, we all should think about it deeply. And if we can help a bit, we all should help the animals in the world. | |

4.  CatGods (1141) | 4 months ago |  I hear you loud and clear. I haven't been to a circus in years and I don't want to ever go to a circus again. Peta, yep I support them and I also support the WWF world wildlife fund. I also support my local humane society which is a no kill facility. I live within the city limits and the city ordinance state only 3 animals per household, but I have 6 cats with their vet records too. My cat's come first.
