| | there is a possibility that the laptops do not have the feature that allows this function. we all know that there is a big difference in the way that the desk top and the laptop is being packaged. so, unless there is a provision in your laptop wherein attaching a tv tuner card is easily doable, you cannot enjoy this feature at all. the best way to deal with this query will be to bring the laptop to the computer store and then inquire from their technician as to whether the laptop model that you have allows this. | | | |

| | yes you can use a computer as a TV as you have said i have a TV tunner card for my computer and i can record some programs and use my computer as a TV. Laptops have a in-built TV tunner card so with that device you can use your laptop as a TV and you can also record the live video in that. | | | | | | |

| | The technicians are unaware of this and I am not able to get any favorable reply from them for this. Some are saying that this is possible but they don;t know the procedure to follow. Now I am in the idea of contacting the Hp customer support for this issue. They may help. If they said that this is not possible with laptops, I can save my time in inquiring about this with others.Sorry for my delayed reply and thanks for your response. | | | |

| | Buy VGA extension line for connecting the laptop and the TV; buy a voice-frequency plug with 2 branches, male sound card, one of the female for laptop and the other for the TV. Take the windows XP for example, first, turn on the TV to the AV channel; right click on the desktop of the laptop->arribute->settings->advanced->display->click upper left corner of the TV item-> then arrtibute->settings->advanced->covering->select theater mode->OK. At last, adjust the display to 800*600 pixel->OK then the signal on the TV is the same as the laptop. You can have a try, happy my lotting! | | | | | | |

| | The simplest way is to purchase an external TV Tuner card which will connect to your laptop through USB. Then you can configure it using the driver CD which'll be in the package. I suggest you get Pinnacle TV Tuner card, they are the best in terms of quality and software package though you can try other too. | | | | | | |

| | As we don't have option to connect through the USB port, we tried with various connectors to connect the signal cable with the laptop from the TV tuner card. But nothing worked. But we did not try to run any software which is the CD given with the laptop. Let me try for this also. This may help to resolve this problem. Thanks for your valuable response and sorry for my delayed comment. | | | |

| | depending what TV Tuner Card you have, i believe that your tv tuner card cant use your laptop monitor as it will only outputs signal. your laptops vga also only outputs signal. you can use your laptop as tv if you buy a USB type tv tuner, connect it to usb, install driver and your ready to go. | | | | | | |

| | the onus is on your cpu whether it has a graphic card with tv-out (scart) input. maintain your connection betweeen your cpu and your monitor. then connect your dvd or tv signal to your cpu via that input. | | | | | | |

| | On my video card I have two outputs and I actually attach both my monitor and TV to it. Because whenever I'm surfing the web I watch TV or Online TV as well or any movie of streamed videos I would display it on my Television instead of my computer monitor. So I can still do my work and designs on my desktop monitor instead of having videos interfering with my desktop monitor and work. God bless | | | | | | |
