Are You Working on a Call Center in the Phlippines? |
| |
| Hi guys... i just joined myLot today. I was thinking of a great discussion I could start. Any why not start with all the companies (specifically, Call Centers) i have worked with. Well, first, let me give you a brief background of myself. I am happily married with 2 lovely daughters named Ian and Ice. Before I applied with my first Call Center, I was a Senior Engineer with one of the manufacturing companies in Clarkfield, Pampanga. My wife was the one who convinced me to apply in a Call Center (coz shes into Call Center. hahaha). The main reason why she convinced me was we barely see each other anymore. I on day shift and she is on graveyard. Well, i tried to apply with Iqor Phlippines (formerly IRMC) at first, I failed. I tried again after 1 month, and at last, I passed my first call center. I was a Customer Finance Representative for Sprint. After 6 months, i resigned because there was a new call center in clark (NCO Clark Phlippines). Because of my experience with Iqor, I was able to passed and I was with the 4th batch under Microsoft Xbox for NCO Clark Phillipines. After 5 months, I resigned, I tried my luck in Manila. Luckily, I was hired at etelecare solutions inc. Right now, im very happy with etelecare and currently holds the position of Team Manager. At present, I dont have plans of resigning as long as it can provide all the needs of my family. How about you guys? Saan Call Centers na kayo nanggaling? hehehe. Share naman kayo ng story nyo sa Call Center. :) | | etelecare global solutions | | | | |

| | I worked at etel a year ago ( I went awol so shhh lol). I was a sales rep for Sprint. That's the first call center I applied to and got employed but we had problems at home and I feel I was being deprived of being a mother to my son and I was depriving him of quality time as well. Good for you, you're a team manager. Maybe I'll try my luck again next year when my son is already going to school. | | | | | | |

| | Thanks for wishing me the best. Btw, is it true that you put people on the call center black list if they didn't finish their contract and went awol (like myself lol)? Just wondering if they'd still welcome me when I'm ready to make a comeback (not necessarily in etel) | | | |

| | I should say, been there, done that. For one I thought it was eating up all my energy as I get to have only very little sleep. Then I was away from my family and I did not like the idea of having to travel often with very little sleep. Thirdly, I thought I was stagnating. Although I was in one of the so-called best call centers in the country and in one of the top accounts, I still thought that it was not at all worth all my sleepless moments when I was supposed to have some rest. | | | | | | |

| | I am currently working in Aegis PeopleSupport here in Cebu. I'm very pleased with the working environment, as well as the people i work with. One thing that i see however that can make me decide to move to other call centers is the lower pay they give as compared to other call centers and the recent change in the medical benefits which was previously the best i have seen. eTelecare can be one of my prospects but I am personally leaning towards ICT, Lexmark or Convergys. | | | | | | |

| | I worked with one of the call centers in Cebu, Philippines. I was a technical support representative. I love my work even if there are times I got irritated to customers who are bossy when in the first place they are the one who called to ask for help. I stopped because it is stressful for me and I got sick. | | | | | | |

| | I've been with Convergys for 4 years and I worked as an outbound technical support for DSL. I resigned because I was supposed to go to Canada for a job offer. It didn't work out and I ended up losing my job. I was jobless for 3 months because I was still hoping to go to Canada but it really didn't push through. I applied here in Sykes and I'm happy to say that things are going along smoothly. I also love my new line of work and I think I'll stay here longer. | | | | | | |
