Is Haynesworth worth it?  

No one is worth that kind of money. I am sure he is good and hopefully can stay healthy but he is a defensive lineman. They aren't going to sell a ton of his jerseys to make money off of. Washington has try to buy wins before with spending sprees and it has never worked. I just can't see dropping that kind of money but I sure would not turn it down.

Haynesworth is good, I just don't know if he's $41 million good. I personally don't think any athlete is worth millions. I mean, I suppose if someone is willing to pay it then they are worth it. I just don't see giving anyone that kind of money to play a sport. But I could say the same about movie stars and the like. I guess it's a job like any other.

You have to remember this is the Washington Redskins, they are use to over paying for talent that doesn't perform. To them it is 100% worth it, they are like the Raiders in the 90's, they will spend what ever it takes to win. And, they will be luck to make the playoffs. If you look at the teams that have won the super bowl of late you will see a small number of free agents. You have to build a Super Bowl team from the ground up.

I say no. He isn't that durable and that is the biggest pitfall, specially for a man his size.
My views on millionaire athletes has always been the same, most of them don't deserve it, and at least a half of them will file for backruptcy after their playing days are over.
